Much to the dismay of locals here, Vaideki falls is easily one of the forgotten beauties of Coimbatore. Not many are aware of this surreal beauty hidden in the outskirts of Coimbatore which was once a most celebrated waterfall in the city. An absolute delight for the trekkers, Vaideki used to serve as the perfect getaway for adventure junkies and others who wanted to cut away from city life.
This blog will let you know everything you need to know about Vaideki falls and its divine aesthetic features.
Vaideki Falls location

Vaideki falls is nuzzled at around 35kms from the center of Coimbatore through the treacherous yet beautiful roads of Narasipuram village. It is located in the Thondamuthur region. What lies ahead is a beautiful stretch of deserted roads that’s a close reminiscence of what you feel while travelling through the artistic god made routes in a perfectly laid out village.
The roads are wide enough and there’s also a big void of bustling cars and speeding buses and not to mention the distracting honking sounds. It is a simple village located on the foothills of Velliangiri, on the lines of western ghats known for its pristine beauty.
The atmosphere adds up to the overall ambiance of the waterfalls which hasn’t changed much over the years thanks to the lesser intervention of the concrete buildings.
Vaideki History

The divinely looking waterfalls was once famously called the “Tholayira Murthi Kandi’ which means nine hundred waterfalls and also a distinguished reference to Hindu gods as well. The name was obviously not so easy on the tongue, until the movie Vaidehi Kathirunthal, which was predominantly shot on the waterfalls and areas nearby.
After the movie set the box office on fire, the waterfalls turned out to be an hotspot for tourists, the place saw people flocking the spot from all over tamil nadu for its unadulterated beauty and heavenly looking streams.
Vaideki falls entry and activities

Close to a few years back, Vaideki falls was one of the most sought after offbeat tourist locations for people here. The deserted roads that lead to the waterfalls was a thing of perfection itself with green layers on both your side gracing the moments to an even beautiful level.
But make sure to be tiptoeing your way to the waterfalls as this place is a cluster of wild animals wandering into the tall green trees in search of prey. The waterfalls comes under the jurisdiction of Coimbatore forest and wildlife protection and hence permission to go venture is strictly required at the entrance.
The enchanting stream of water gushes down from the shiny rocks of the falls, streaming down with a breezy tone and a chilling feel that sends a warm love of nature down the soul for anyone who experiences the water gracing them vividly.
Unlike the older times when the entry was much smoother without any hassle, it is now an hectic process that can drive anyone up the wall as the entry is mostly restricted now citing the wild animals taming the forest area now.
But nevertheless the road trip is worth every single moment and seconds. The roads are unique in their own way, calming down any raging thoughts or negativity taking a back seat and if you are lucky, you can definitely get few clips of the small streams of beautiful waters gushing by your sides and top it off with the melodic bird chirping sounds to make your day even more blissful.
