Ok so we are back with another lip smacking episode of our Wowfood series, the first 2 episodes didn’t throw enough lights on the diverse cuisine culture of Coimbatore, which has left us on a trial to find the best Chinese restaurant in Coimbatore to dwell into some Asian delicacies. Do you all know Coimbatore has been having a rather strong rapport with Chinese restaurants that dates a decade back? Ok cut to our content. Where to get the best Chinese foods?
Kowloon Coimbatore and what not to miss here
Our mission for some amazing Chinese foods ended rather sooner than we expected it to be, taking us to the ever-charming NSR roads of Saibaba colony, Kowloon restaurant.
So what not to miss here? Well if you ask us, we would definitely recommend everything on the menu, right from the pork to lip-smacking chicken, every dish stands out from the menu. For starters, the clear chicken soup can be a delightful experience and if you move up the charts we would highly recommend Chicken prawn noodles with some tantalizing garlic honey chicken.
The pork menu is something to yearn for more, with roasts that takes away the top spot for all the foodie lovers out there. Try out the roast pork for sure and other prawn and chicken main courses.
The rice and noodles portions are also on the higher side. We personally loved the roasted pork and some classic American chopsuey to top it off for an amazing dine night.
And when it comes to rice, the options are huge for us to choose from. The Shanghai pork friend turned out to be drool worthy and we paired it up with some classic sweet and spicy dragon chicken.
Kowloon restaurant actually looks like a decent home from the outside but on the inside it is a proper Chinese restaurant that you would expect it to be.
It has the word Asian kitchen written all over it right from the entrance to the wall paintings and staff, even the subtle details go down in reminding us that we stepped into the best Chinese restaurant in Coimbatore.
Our VFM meter
Our VFM meter has struck an all time high with this one, with the price tag being gladly satisfied by the unrivalled quantity and quality they have to offer. The noodles and fried rice varieties can easily serve two. The taste and quality has remained largely the same over decades, Easily the best place to taste orthodox Chinese foods in Coimbatore.
The price is not as high as the other restaurants in Coimbatore. On the down side, however, the waiting time could have been improved, the first floor Is often shut down for its services and the restaurant hoists only limited seats so knock the doors early. And did we say they close down pretty soon too after their lunch service?

“Everything is good about this place, been there since the 2000’s. Considering the locality, quality and the consistency it’s better than most of the so called chinese restaurants in town. Roast pork is a must try! We can customise the menu according to our taste as well. Chinese with an Indian twist 🔀.
”Famous Chinese restaurant in town. Been here a few dozen times. They claim to serve fresh farm-bred pork foods. Hot pepper pork and chili roast pork are my personal favorites here. Not a fan of the chicken here. Seafood is average. Mancho soup is the ultimate start. Definitely worth trying, at least for the pork.
