Walayar Tourist Places

Perfect weather, unoccupied streets, moody presets of the undiluted nature calls for a perfect ride to the town of artwork, Walayar. But walking up to the dreamy destinations here can be a bit tricky, blame it on the forgettable quality of resources online. So I have the privilege of unwinding the best tourist places in Walayar Dam that you should never miss in 2020. Some of them might ring a bell to you while a few might not be on your page.

Deer Park Walayar

Deer Park, Walayar
Deer Park

A huge 104 acres of land hidden in the green woods which also houses deer and leopards that often shows up on your trek in search of food and water. They are very good posers, often giving the models a run for their money.

The park has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, as the unkept ambiance and cramped enclosure has frustrated the authorities who have green signalled their decision of calling a ban on public entertainment post 2014. But the park still has carved a special place in the local’s heart as the road leading to the park itself is a symbol of ultimate tranquillity as the soothing ride makes us wish it never ends.

The popular sighting of Walayar, the dam sits within a 15 minutes radius from the town centre allowing the accessibility with much ease, as there are frequent buses and private vehicles plying continuously making it no big deal to reach here.

The dam is build across the Walayar River which is a tributary of Kalpathipuzha River. It was opened in 1964 as a source for irrigation to the town and villagers nearby, it stands true to its purpose as the town is hugely benefited from the fresh stream of breezy water flowing in from the dam.

A perfect tourist place in Walayar to let go of the stress and indulge in some peaceful ambiance, with the waves gracing the dam striking a chord with our wandering thoughts. On the whole, your go-to destination to revive your mood with a bit of help from the nature.
