Brookfields Mall Coimbatore

The first to taste the warm love of Coimbatorians back in 2009, built on the brook bond road enroute Railway station. A long overdue project that saw the light of its day in 2009 when it was in its full glory and unveiled to full public view on May 4 2009.
Being the first of its kind, it was indeed a back-breaking guessing game for most of the people to find out what the 4 storey building was all about. The unveiling event was a frenzy affair with party lights adoring the huge walls of the building that was once no better than an abandoned building.
A 4 storey multi facility mall that boasts of a list of features like the ATM center, city’s first dedicated gaming hub, a first in the city food court that brought in all the popular bigger names under one roof, 30+ bricks and mortars of popular stores.
The mall was shown to full public view, with the top floor being still under the final works. The works of a dolby supported exquisite multiplex theater. Later acquired by the SPI giants, under the SPI The Cinemas division, the 6 screen marvel hosted a dedicated food court, a big lobby and neatly upkept washrooms.

Multi Storey parking facility allows a hassle free experience for the motorists but for the weekends as things really get bustling especially when the clock hits the 18 hours mark as city folks start flocking the mall for a happening weekend.

Fun Mall Coimbatore

Following in the footprints of Brookfields, Fun Mall stormed the scenes on 19 August 2012 with a huge fan following from the college goers on the Avinashi road. The initial excitement has been shadowed ever since the year later the mall got inaugurated, the number of footfalls stands as a disheartening proof for that.
Unlike brookfields with its staggering 10 acres properties, Fun Mall is rather sprung across a 3.5 acres land on the ever bustling roads of Avinashi, a hotspot for schools and colleges. Perhaps a strong valid reason for the Essel group to have narrowed down on this place to anchor Coimbatore’s 2nd mall.

The 6 storey mall hoists a gaming center, a 5 screen multiplex theaters, a food court and a multi storey parking lot that has been architectured to accommodate mind blogging numbers of vehicles under its hood.
Fun mall has steered away from the age old design language of Brookefields mall, and has broken the stereotypes of orthodox architect blueprint and has gone the way of modern savvy language with each floor being wonderfully laid out. Perhaps that’s the reason Brookfields still stands out from the lot, for the simple outlook and easy laid back layout that allows a soothing shopping experience.
The shopping experience in Fun Mall is equally vivid that comes close to the perfection of the former mall, with Shoppers store being its anchor store taking away a huge chunk of the mall. The awkward placements of escalators and stairs are one major let down of the biggie, as it tests our patience everytime we get confused to differentiate between the up and down escalators.
The 5 screen multiplex theater is perhaps the only selling point of Fun Mall. Developed by the popular Cinepolis, the multiplex is widely appreciated for its movie experience and unparalleled sound quality. The snack bar is a sore to eye with limiting movie buffs to choose from only a limited range of snacks and the lobby is also not big on the papers.

Prozone Mall

The last (at least for now) to join the party, Prozone mall in Coimbatore stands out from the rest of the lot, on a good note obviously. The mall tucked away in the most happening places of Coimbatore at the present moment has elevated the laid back shopping experience to a whole new level.
Graced the scenes on 19 July 2017, the mall came as a shocker to Kovai makkal as the flat mall was void of any floors other than the 1st level making the mall goers scratch their heads while thinking if the mall is still under construction.
With just one storey and a simple but huge parking lot across the lawn on its east wing, it took a little longer for people to get used to its contemporary aesthetics. But with the opening of INOX mall, the major ice breaker indeed happened during 2018 that increased the foothills to a whooping numbers within days.

The 9 screen INOX has a huge lobby for the starters that uplifts the mood with its list of comfy cushions and sofas, a well equipped snack and foot court inside that offers a never ending list of quick bites and soft drinks and even a gaming screen to while away your time during the intervals. What a place to be in, like seriously.
A perfect movie hub to uplift your overall mood and vibe, And not to rule out the gallery, a wall of fame with the photo frames of cinema biggies that turned out to be the favorite selfie spot for cine goers.

These malls have shown everyone that Coimbatore is indeed turning out to be the hotspot for shoppers and welcoming anything that comes their way with a smile. We hope other big names in the games are noting this down and soon will consider The Manchester of South India to be their next destination for building their new mall.
